We have decided to take a last week of September trip (in the 21st and out the 29th). We are going to spend 8 nights and would like to stay on 4 lakes, each 2 nights, where there is zero boat/air traffic or outpost lodges, and mix up the fishing. Looking for solitude. Are there good LT lakes near Walleye lakes? We would also like to have good wildlife photo opportunities at the same time. Will be looking to shuttle in because I think a fly-in will be out of our budget. Thoughts are much appreciated!!

Your criteria would match a Leano entry. A nice loop with with variety of fish speciex. There are a lot of travel options in that area. Compare the price of the shuttles to a fly-,I paddle out trip. At that time of year it should be pretty empty where ever you paddle.

Here is a good resource for the species of fish and the lakes you can find them in:

My buddies and I paddled in from wallace lake via wanipigow river. That was a really fun paddle. A lot of solitude I don't believe we saw another canoe after the first day paddling in. Also, we saw some good wildlife especially on the islands. Hope this helps.

Happy Paddling!

Any concern driving into Leano? Besides possible snow event? Good loop possibilities with both Walleye and Lakers. You shuttle in, your shuttling back out. You could leave your vehicle at Onnie entry and be shuttled to Leano. Telescope has a lodge..
