What's your experience with this lake. I've been through it twice but didn't fish.

I fished it for an afternoon with no live bait, only lures and didn’t catch a thing. Smoke and burnt to the east of here is better fishing.

Just for clarification- you're asking about Elton just south of Lil' Sag? Or is it Alton off of Sawbill?

If it's Elton? I've not fished it (just paddle), but have heard northerns are the predominant fish.

Camped and fished there an afternoon/evening a few Septembers ago. One of those cold, high sky, bright, sunny days - fishing was tough, but we picked up a few smallies. Didn't seem like a fishing "destination" lake to me, but again, we hit it at a tough time.
