We have a permit for EP at Carp Lake for the end of June and I was looking to get some feedback on some good walleye lakes around the Man Lakes. We have 5 days, and I would prefer to basecamp the majority of time.
Thanks in advance.

Just catch the trout...they're better eating, anyways. :)

We did well on Fran one day in June. It was on the east end northeast of an island among weeds about 8 - 10 feet deep. I forget the bait, probably a jig and twister tail cast and retrieve above the weeds. Saw a moose and calf there as well.

I did well on other man dropping senkos down weightless off any rock you see sticking out in the middle of the lake.

The Man Chain is one of my favorite areas of the Quetico, and never failed to fill the fry pan. Mostly northerns, which my son and I like, although more bony. Good success especially wherever there is a narrow passage to a bay or between two separate lake sections.
