I have two Seliga cedar and canvas canoes for sale. A square stern with serial number 7 and a 17 regular of 1970’s vintage. Both need a little tic. Will consider reasonable offers. Ron at 218 326 5443 or rsmsr614@yahoo.com

It will help to determine value if you can give more information and pictures. Where are they located? Thanks

Wow, number 7 that is pretty neat!

The regular 17 is gone. The square stern is left for those interested in a piece of history.

Dan, who maintains a database of Seliga canoes, confirms a Dr McBride purchased a 16ft square stern in 1947. Per the records and numbering system, this is likely the 9th square stern made by Seliga.

Just so its clear in future searches, I bought the square stern, aka The Fisherman, so it is no longer for sale. I'll be doing some of the low skill level portions of the restoration this week. Alex Comb of Stewart River Boatworks will be performing in the "skills" section.

This will be a fun family boat that will see some use. I'm excited to have it. I'll try and post some pics once its complete.

I've sold off a couple, but I've still got more than I need. I have no more than two at any given time at any single location, however, so that's totally sane and acceptable.

In my defense, this is a boat that will have a small motor and eventually a trailer. As such it does not apply to the overall canoe count.

Hi Adam,

Does Dan have Joe's records? I've got 401, had it for about 45 years now. Curious if there are any special notes made about that individual canoe. I'm also in the process of trying to sort out what to do with the canoe since time has moved on. Can Dan be contacted as a source of info?

Thanks

If you sign in, Dan can probably contact you directly.

I'd love to see some pictures of your canoe, though. I'm always interested in seeing another Seliga!
