I have been debating what to do as far as a lighter smaller fish finder. Today i prdered a marcm showdown troller 2.0. I am excited to be able to free up some pack space and drop some weight! Is anyone else using one from a canoe? Think it will shoot theougha kevlar hull?

Marcum units are perhaps the best at shooting through material and getting a good reading. With "up to 4,000-watts peak-to-peak power," as described in the specs online, you should have absolutely no trouble reading through kevlar. Though I don't lug it on canoe trips, I'll often use my Marcum LX-3tc and its 2,000-watts of power on ice fishing trips to read depths without any drilling... if the ice is good. With your Showdown, just make sure you find an area for the 'ducer that doesn't have foam sandwiched between the layers, like a rib or the football shape in the center of many We-no-nah boats.

I have one, I love it, its light and compact, battery life is great. Shoots through the hull great. I got a awesome deal on mine from sportsmans guide.

I've been using one for a few years, no complaints. Shoots right thru the Kevlar hull no problem. And as others have said, great battery life.

Hey, that looks like Cedar Lake! I was there for a bit on opener last weekend.
