What does everyone think of these? I got some with a super fly just to try them out.

Everything you take adds weight to your pack but I think poles are worth the weight. I use them in standard pole mod fashion and sometimes just to prop up the porch.

I am referring to the spreader poles.

as in standard pole mod? Inside or outside?

I was referring to these. Don't think they would support a porch mode.

I use mine just as pictured in your link and sometimes just to prop up the edge of the tarp. I also sometimes use one over the ridge line of my Blackbird to hold it out rather than running tie out lines.

I use mine for both. 2 outside pole mods or 1 inside middle of tarp with all poles connected to prop open from the middle of the tarp. Easy to change up when needed.

They work nice to open up the tarp a bit! I tried some on my Superfly with some trekking poles. I’m running the inside pole mod on my UGQ winterdream for an almost obscene amount of room.

I did an outside pole mod on my hammock when I first got it but decided it wasn't worth the additional weight so I don't trip with them. I just use the tie outs instead when I want some extra room or it's stormy/windy.

Those look really handy. Just when you think they can not improve a simple tarp then this appears.

They are nice and add a lot of space. Make sure you seal the stitching on the tabs so they wont leak.

I always use them. They add lots of room under the tarp, help in windy conditions and pull the tieouts away from the hammock, so even if you have a minor leak there it'll most likely miss your hammock. they also work in porch mode.

oh and they weigh next to nothing, so that's not really a concern...
