Karen Cooke, wife of Dan Cooke and co-founder of Cooke Custom Sewing (CCS) in Lino Lakes, MN, passed away on Sunday, June 10th from cancer. Our thoughts go out to Dan and their family, along with prayers for strength during this difficult time.

I don't know if Dan knows about this thread or will read it, but truly sorry to hear of your loss. Praying for peace and comfort in the days and weeks to come and that hope will sustain you. You do not walk alone.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends. Peace
Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.

Thoughts and prayers to Dan and his family. I never met Karen, but I know she was one great woman.
About 10 years ago when CCS had their 30th anniversary 30%off sale (each month of the year they had a different product 30% off) we purchased 2 pink Rucksacks for our young daughters as birthday presents. Karen found out that they were birthday presents and sewed two pink toiletry bags and sent them along w/ the packs w a Happy Birthday note for the girls.

Sincere condolences Dan and family. Sometimes I want to scream obscenities at that horrid disease that strikes good kind and loved people!
I am so very very sorry for your loss.

Karen and I met on the edge of the BWCAW and we need to protect it's waters and from possible irreversible pollution sources. She fought a good fight against Ovarian cancer for 2 1/2 yrs. She will be missed greatly by Me my family and all who knew her.
Thank you all for standing with me in prayers thoughts and vibes, for expressing your sympathy and condolences. They are felt and appreciated greatly. Remember to hug your loved ones and tell them often of how you love them.

Knew it was coming.. but heartbreaking nevertheless. Wishing you a kind of peace Dan as you learn your new role in life.
My sister in law died June 3 of bladder cancer. The end was coming but no one knew when. The quickness of it really hit her husband hard. He is struggling.
; after losing his soulmate of 45 years. May God grant you a different journey of less pain.

The river calmly flows, Through shining banks, through lonely glen, Where the owl shrieks, though ne'er the cheer of men Has stirred its mute repose, Still if you should walk there, you would go there again.

I was a little thrown off Jackfish. You posted she passed the third. I saw a deal saying she passed the 10th? No matter, it's very sad to have such people like Dan have to go through this. I think he's like a brother to many of us. Boppa, Housty9, magic paddler all have lost spouses in similar tragic ways the last few years. And the support of friendship, thoughts and prayers have been much appreciated by all. Dan has been a great supporter of us and for that I thank you Dan. I guess I'm just kinda thinking how lucky we are to have such a great circle of friends who care deeply about each other.
Love ya Dan! And God bless...

Sorry about that. My original post has now been edited to the correct date.
