Hello all... My awesome wife just booked a cabin for 4 nights on Burntside. One of my bucket list trips to Smallmouth fish & live like grizzly Adams! Were coming from the black hills... A long way to tow my bass boat. Should I plan to tow the boat or simplify n' rent when I get there? My hope is Smallie fish my butt off & have a day or two of the 'real' experience up there by doing a canoe day or two... Worth towing the boat or rent & simplify? Thanks... ;)

Get a grip Bud........you don't tow a boat 1/2 way across the country to fish out of it for a day.

Choose to either use it the entire time and maybe rent a canoe to paddle your lovely wife around for a romantic evening paddle or fish out of the canoe the entire time.

Me? A drive up lake? Give me the bass boat any day and rent the canoe for sightseeing and pleasure paddling.

Try and plan a hike in the area as well. Should be some nice little walks in the woods you can do with the missus. Focus Lad, she booked the trip because she wants to spend time with you. She is the priority. Turn it into a fishing trip at your own peril........it's a long drive back.

The trick is to make sure she is content and feels loved. Then you can fish without any "issues".
