Has anybody paddled the Oyster River this year and avoided the 160 rod portage? Heading up Monday morning. Thanx for info
Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.
Met 2 guys while on the Nina Moose River that got thru the Oyster river headed South before Memorial Day. I was headed North & tried to find the outflow, but it was very low & I was not able to get thru. Took the portage. Lots of wolf scat along the way...that portage of course ends in that teriffic hip deep mud. Exciting times.
It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop. -Confucius
