Has anybody paddled the Oyster River this year and avoided the 160 rod portage?
Heading up Monday morning. Thanx for info

Met 2 guys while on the Nina Moose River that got thru the Oyster river headed South before Memorial Day. I was headed North & tried to find the outflow, but it was very low & I was not able to get thru. Took the portage. Lots of wolf scat along the way...that portage of course ends in that teriffic hip deep mud. Exciting times.

Just got back from that area, Oyster river was navigable but low. Saw a wolf on the Oyster end of the portage.
