Thanks to the help here i have decided on the Warbonnet BB with their 20* underquilt. Now on to the tarps. Actually, need two as my daughter needs one for her hammock set up. Trying to decide between the Superfly, Mountain Fly, and Thunderfly. Needing two, I am leaning towards the Mountain Fly first and then deciding to go either more or less with the second one. thoughts?

Also, need to decide between the Silnylon and Silpoly. Thinking I will go with the nylon based on the WB info that the nylon is more durable and the couple ounces is not a big deal to me. Any reason besides weight to go with the poly?

I just came out of a Minnesota Hurrricane in a Clark nx-270 with a Thunderfly.
Horrendous high winds.
I stayed bone dry.

I have a Blackbird XLC and use a CCS 10'x14' when tripping. I've never had an issue.

I went with the Super fly because I usually go in shoulder seasons and also wanted to keep gear dry. You may get more condensation with the Super fly.

For my XLC I use the Superfly for Wintercamping (more wind protection) and use the Thunderfly the rest of the year. As mentioned already it will give you plenty of coverage in nasty weather. I got both in poly, but mainly because I like the bushwack camo and poly is the only option available here.

I only use a Superfly but have my eye on the Thunderfly. I'd go sil nylon all the way.

If you are considering used gear, check out Hammockforums dot net. Lots of hangers who sell their older or under used gear. Usually the prices aren't hugely discounted but in some cases, your item will ship faster than buying new. Tons of tips and reviews an anything hammocking also.

Get the WB SuperFly. You can have the doors tied pack when not required and deploy them quickly in inclement weather. It's truly a four season fly.

I agree, it's the most versatile. I bought mine in 2009 when Brandon was working on the design. Mine has removable doors that snap off. I have always deployed them since I usually go in September.

Yes! Silpoly does not wet out like silnylon will. Along with that, silpoly won't stretch after getting wet like silnylon, so it stays taut.

DIY Silpoly in front.... Silnylon Superfly in rear
