It is official... Pimachiowin Aki - which Woodland Caribou Prov. Park is part of - is now a World Heritage Site. Thanks to the dedicated work of the members of four indigenous communities and other partners who shared a vision to see this great natural and cultural treasure receive the recognition it deserves. It's a tremendous gift.

Wow - both fantastic and huge!

That must be one of the larger WH Sites globally.

I assume this will generate more interest tourism. What does this mean for management practices in the park?

I look forward to adding Pimachiowin Aki to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites I have visited around the world. Congratulations on this special recognition.
