Anyone run that little river north into the Twin Lakes? Looks like 5 decent campsites up there and the old fishing report from the DNR looks ok. Any tales or tips appreciated. We are headed up on a Dad/Daughter trip Thursday am.

Camped on Burntside in early June. Made lots of runs up to East twin in the boat to catch crappie and largemouth. Bluegills too, great place to take a kid for action. Lots of weeds easy to bobber fish.

In seven days I caught 2 walleyes on Burntside. Granted they were both over 26" but that was some humble pie.
Easy to catch smallies, great lake I'll be back this fall to try again and camp for free.

We had leeches, crawlers, and minnows. 1" gulp minnow on a pink 1/32 oz or 1/16 oz jig worked best on the weed edges along east twin for panfish below a bobber.

Dead river leads into Twin lakes. Handful of cabins on East Twin, one cabin on West Twin (never seen anyone there). Quite little lakes. The Dead river is narrow with a few sharp corners. Watch out for motor boats.

Thanks so much for the info! I was hoping the panfish would cooperate. This crew is more into that style of fishing. We will give it our best and report back. I like the free part too. It's nice to have a bdub similar option without all the fees and set up.
