Picked this canoe up a couple months ago and it has some damage. From the picture you can tell the guy tried to repair the outside. Any advice on what I should do with this damaged area.

Sand inside and out. Patch the inside first with fiberglass cloth and epoxy. Patch the outside the same way. After it cures, sand again and put on a slightly larger patch. After it cures, sand smooth. varnish for uv protection.
