Voyageur North Outfitters (VNO) has 'em, among other places.

VNO is a good option. Another would be The Great Outdoors bait shop. They're down the street from each other. And, as Atrain says, "among other places".

I’d call ahead. I tried getting leaches today in Babbitt, they were out! They weren’t sure if they’d be getting anymore.

I would be VERY surprised if you found any leeches in the area, and finding them sold by the pound, next to impossible.

Everyone that came through the shop said there are no leeches anywhere. We ran out selling them by the dozen yesterday morning and Skube's was the only other shop in the area that had also been selling them by the dozen for the last week.

I called around since I am going to Brule tomorrow and seems like supply is very low, there were no leeches in the metro area (Out 3 weeks), there were few when I was in Brainerd this weekend but they were small. Called up a few places up north and now they are selling by the dozen, I highly doubt there will be any left by next week. Start buying those gulps or crawlers ;)

LEECH STATUS:
I heard VNO had a few leeches two days ago, but don't know if they have any more.

****Just got a call from my trapper, and he will have some leeches which I will pick up this afternoon, and be selling tomorrow (by the dozen for now)*****

We have leeches by the dozen as of 3 this afternoon.

We have leeches now. By the dozen, 2 dozen, half pound & pound.

Can't say how long but we have about 40 pounds right now.

How late in the season do you normally try to keep them in stock.

Not by how late we have them, but how late in the season we can still get them.

We have about 20 pounds right now & have another 40 pounds coming in on either Wednesday or Thursday (if all goes well). Best to call before you come up.

Not sure if after this next batch arrives if we'll have a way to get any more. I think I'm going to keep 2-3 dozen in my own personal frig for my September trip, just to be sure. :-)

I panicked and ordered a pound online.
I would waaay rather supported you guys. Bummer

We have about 15 pounds left and won't know for a few days if "our trapper" will be able to find any more. I'll try to make sure I post here if we do.

Sounds like Grand Marais is done with leeches for the season. Hank's was shocked to hear there were any leeches, anywhere.

Just got in 40# of leeches this morning, still have about 30# left. May have another 40# coming in 2 days.
