sns: "Very cool Marten; welcome back!
Any maps to go along with your video?
How was the Pakboat canoe?
Cheers."
Try this interactive fire map and zoom in on SE Manitoba and look for Sasaginnigak and Noname Lake to appear. On the overlays click fire perimeter to see the burned area.

The Pak canoe really serves a purpose. It gives us three canoes to pick from when we have layovers. It really hauls a huge load and handles great. When weighed down with 300 pounds plus me it seems more like a barge but I can still keep up with my double blade. I have the 165 and 60 liter barrels fit nicely crossways and can be easily loaded and unloaded. I prefer not to take it up small streams and risk poking sharp sticks through the side walls. I watch closely on portages too and trim away branch stubs that may impale it as I cross. The bottom is made to really take abuse but the sidewalls are vulnerable. The Pak canoes really pay for themselves when it comes to fly-in cost savings.

Thanks - can see right where it swept in behind you.
On the PakCanoe, I've had that thought, but what about the situations where you are dropped (or picked up) in the middle of a lake? Not every lake you are going to want to begin or end your trip on will have a dock or a sand beach for the plane, and those guys (rightly) don't like to get close to a treed shoreline.
?
Cheers!

HighnDry: "I just found your video Marten. Nice shots of the lakes and your travel. Was that Blue Water Aviation that got you in there?"
