Sawbill Outfitters should be a good source for fishing advise. You could contact them on their internet site or stop there on your way in. I have used them in the past and they offered to give some tips.

If you want to fish walleye, Brule Lake is close. I have never fished Brule in the Fall, but recall that Jock Mock Point was the place to fish. You could search the messageboard for fishing Brule. There is a lot of info posted there over the years. Sawbill is a walleye lake, but isn't as productive as Brule. Catching a few fish on your trip would be icing on the cake.

I only had luck at night or early mornings. North of the peninsula campsite. It was during the may fly hatch using top water lures. Not sure if that will still work in September. Good luck!

Do a day trip one lake over across the short portage to Smoke and jig leeches for walleye! Had some good, productive days over there. Much more so than I've ever gotten into on Sawbill.
