I got SiriusXM radio and the only Christian radio I like is the billy graham channel. Hearing billy talking about Jonah and he commented he was in Nineveh like the next day after being spit out by the fish. Amazing I thought that being so against God and immediately when Jonah was bringing them the gospel they totally repented and accepted the message. I would have said.... something smells fishy here...

I think our master appreciates a bit of humor (LOL)? We are to live in a way in which people look at us and want what we have! If we are walk around all serious all the time and with a frown on our face and a sermon discouraging humor.... well, who wants THAT?
I didn't realize there WAS a BG channel, though? I listen to "The Message" and "Family Talk" most of the time. Of course, when I'm sleepy and driving I listen to "Hair Nation" for some "Wake up" music (LOL)?

Ausable: "Ha. Except he probably smelled less fishy by the time he got to Nineva, maybe more like a camel."
Billy insisted he got there like in a day. Like the fish got him that close. I haven’t read that or just his interpretation?

I'll chalk that up to creative preaching, if that is what he said. Given that Nineveh is 400 miles east of the Mediterranean Sea, an overland route is the only possibility outside of a sea route around Africa, through the Persian Gulf, and up the Tigris River to Nineveh. The book of Jonah doesn't say how long it took for Jonah to get to Nineveh after the fish vomited him onto the shore.

Yeah, I just shared my first thought after hearing what I did. So yeah, might be part of the reason he didn’t want to go... over 500 miles by camel, foot or whatever.... that’s a long way!

Here is a slightly humorous (I hope) follow-up. Recently I was watching a Veggie Tales movie with a young grand daughter; the name of the movie was Jonah. Jonah was represented by an asparagus character. Anyway, Jonah comes into Ninevah looking a little bleached by being in the stomach of the fish. Ninevah's ruler orders a soldier to sniff Jonah to verify whether he was telling the truth about being in the stomach of the great fish. The soldier sniffs, gags, turns away in disgust, and reports that, yes, Jonah smells very fishy. You'd have to see the scene, but it was pretty funny.
