Just wondering if anyone can give me any info on the Trygg Lake area. I’ve been on plenty BW trips but never to this area. I’m taking my dad and sister up there. It will be a special trip for all of us since the lake was named after my great grandfather.

In 2014 we camped on Takumich a few days and took a trip into Trygg to check it out. It is only a short portage from Tak. Trygg was a pretty lake as are most all lakes there. There was one site on the lake and it didn't look like it had been used in a long time and didn't look useable when we were there as it was swampy. You could camp on Tak and day trip to Trygg. We were there in mid June and had Tak to ourselves for 3 days. Only downside was occasionally hearing motor boats on LLC.

Trygg lake is a designated trout lake and requires a trout stamp if you are of certain age.

Pretty, little lake. Portage from Tak is a bit steep and can be slick initially but levels off and is not bad at all after. Splitshot hook and crawler for the brookies. As stated campsite didnt look good from the lake so stay on Tak and portage in and bring lunch to enjoy on the campsite maybe.

Camp info "

I just read that the other day! That's the report that convinced me that I need to check out that area. Maybe I will do the tow too - it seems like a really cool experience, whether or not it's an "authentic" canoe trip beginning! I took tows for both of my trips in 2018 and don't regret it one bit. Saves so much time and effort.

BTW, sorry to hear you weren't able to slay the brookies during your short time on Trygg!
