The topic is current. I think these will go fast so I posted it here for those interested, instead of the "for sale or wanted" forum, New Whisperlite Universal $73

These retail at $140 and are very good, true multifuel burners!

I can not open e-bay on my computer. Are these through a retailer?

doesn't go to item page. maybe a bad link?
I have no issues connecting to ebay on my computer.

When I put this up there were 2 left after I purchased 1.
Sold out or seller realized an error and pulled the ad. I did receive the email Ebay confirmation of purchase for mine.
Maybe a case of "too good to be true". Will see what develops.

Well this is embarrassing.
Have been looking for, a spare Dragonfly, a new version XKG EX, and new style Whisperlite Universal to add to my pile. Checking occasional clearances, out of buisness sales, used adds, Ebay. This popped up when generally browsing for RC parts (another retirement hobby), was not going to buy but just put it up here. After my OP I purchased one, changing my mind. Right after that the seller canceled his Ebay account. Ebay and Paypal emailed me about this pointing out the purchase is verified and should go thru, but supplied links for reimbursement if the transaction fails. Will let you folks know the outcome.

Been purchasing gear from Ebay paying via PayPal for more than 10 years new and used. Only 1 prior need to seek resolution and the refund came thru fast. I still have confidence in them to deliver.

I ordered this one from Amazon Prime. For the price I couldn't resist and since I am trying to outfit myself completely this year I need to save costs now and upgrade later. It has really good reviews. I don't plan on winter camping with it so it should be ok. I hope. I will try it out quite a bit before I trust it on a trip.

I have several Oriental brand burners, they work fine. Some a bit fiddly with the folding parts, in general good quality. I do stay away from the Oriental brand liquid fuel stoves though. They often require a proprietary fuel bottle with odd threads, and the fussier complications with pressurized system burners.

Use it well mine, are well made. One is nearly identical to the version you ordered.

I noticed that too. It was what got me to post. I really like the MSR Whisperlight Universal but that will be a purchase for next winter. Cheapo for this summer...lol

Just got a full refund thru Paypal. Seller stoped the sale and canceled his/her accounts with Ebay and Paypal.
So I have, 1 Dragonfly, 1 Whisperlite Universal, 2 XKG EX's on watch, each under $75 as of now.

It's too bad you weren't looking for the xgk ex about a year ago. Military surplus models were going for like $40-$60.

Yes, I watched several they go up much higher than any other stove in bidding, must be a collector thing. No different from commercial except for fuel fitting plug, colors and bag. The so called JP8 jet is a standard K sized orifice. 2 XGK EX's now listed below $50 but 1 does not show a pump (I have a few).
