Anyone know a source for kydex for these axes? Leather is worn and thinking kydex would last longer.

Knife Kits US Knifemaker are some sources I have used others are common. Easy to do with stuff at home small broiler/over a few inch thick foam insulation sheets, wood blocks and clamps.

Super, super easy to work with like Butthead showed.
Just the smallest amount of tooling and you'll be making Kydex sheaths for everything you own.

Grizzly outdoors. Be prepared for a wait of 4-8 weeks though.

Many colors including camo and leather look, and sizes available on Ebay along with rivets (grommets) if that's your desire. Personally I prefer a standard rivet (like in the Irwin saw sheath) over the grommets as they take less space. Lacing with the right type of lace looks good as well.

Interesting - is this stuff tough enough for a decent-sized saw? (I sometimes carry a Corona 21" hand saw - needs a sheath).

It is a thermoformed plastic that cools to good rigidity. Yes it would work well, very popular for firearm holsters.

Find the suppliers. Keep in mind it comes in different thicknesses for a reason.
