This may be off topic but I will ask anyway. I teach lower elementary and have several recess duties throughout the week. I usually wear my LLBean boots and change them out.

Since I am usually helping zip coats, finding gloves and hats, helping with boots/shoes, quelling disagreements and so on, I am thinking of a quicker method of donning my footwear. I was thinking of lacing them with what many of you use for ridge lines, Dyneema, I believe.

My questions is, will a cord lock allow me to slip them on and pull them tight or will this material slip through a cord lock?

Thanks in advance, now back to work trying to figure out why little Johnnie keeps eating little Susie's snack.

That li'l Johnnie......
Just get some Dyneema and try it with some cord locks and answer your own question.
It's pretty slippery.

I always found Bean boots to be a bit of a pain to get on and off. Maybe switch to a Muck type boot. Slip them They go on and off very quickly

We really need a "like" button option. As soon as I read the original question, my answer was the Much Boots. Absolutely awesome.

One option you might consider, NEOS overshoes Saves time by eliminating the need to remove and replace your inside shoes.

To address your question: I have used cord locks on 2.2 mm Zing-it and 1.8 mm Dynaglide. It seems like success is more a function of having a cord lock with enough bite.

I spliced a temporary boot lace from Zing-it for an old pair of Vasque Sundowners that my HS aged son swiped from me. He could never get that lace to hold a bow knot. Eventually, he tied some permenant bend and pulled the resulting loop on and off the lace hooks.

The boots were more than 15 years old when he took them. He was able to destory them in less than 3 years. That "temporary" lace lasted as long as he wore them.

I never had a pair of Muck's. If I can't find a local source for cordage I will either try those or some over shoes since I don't have worry too much about snow coming over the top of my boots/shoes. Thanks for the replies.

Search for local arborist's supply shop. Alternatively, Dutchware Gear offers several spliceable options.

Have to agree with the mucks, I have a pair that are About six inches high, totally dry very warm and extremely easy on and off.
