Does anyone know of a dealer that sells the Blackwater that allows people to test paddle? I live in western WI and know that I will need to travel a bit.

No, but it does look like Savage River will be at Canoecopia for what it's worth...

I have paddled it in Pennsylvania FWIW and its not to my liking.. It does not allow me to pack my style of gear well.. If you do make it to Canoecopia take measurements of your all your gear with you. The bow is especially problematic with what I have.

i wondered about that myself, i was looking at the deep creek solo, similar to the prism, as in length and room.

Savage River is listed as an exhibitor at Copia and have been there in past.
I have discussed the similarities to my Advantage with the reps and believe it to be very similar. It does have more volume than the Advantage.

I have no problem with the volume in front of my Advantage when tripping or the back for that matter. Gunwales are about an inch narrower than the Advantage at center.

I am planning on making it to Copia this year after a long absence. I will have to look over the presentation schedule to pick out the best day. Maybe I can talk them into a test paddle if there is open water by then.

Pulling out of savage river a couple years back. You can see just a piece of it behind a kayak on my truck. Met RC with his ride in North Branch MN and the Grumman’s went on to Edmonton.

It sounds like I might be able to paddle one on Sunday if the weather is decent.
