One of the things I struggled with last year was managing my anchor line. Would keep it coiled under my seat best I could but was always a PIA. Found this "Dive reel" on a scuba site and I think this would do the trick. Before I pull the trigger on this, wanted to see if anyone else had a better idea.

We try very hard not to bring excess "stuff" and "clutter". I would consider something like you're mentioning both of those. With just a little effort, your anchor rope can be coiled (or at least piled) in the boat so it doesn't get all tangled.
I'm going on memory, but generally we'll use 1/4 inch cotton rope for our anchor ropes. It coils easily and can go overboard with the anchor and be brought back into the canoe quite easily.
Do you use basketball nets for holding your anchor rocks?

it would be nice if they were longer, say around 40'"
You can open them up and replace the line with 50 -100 feet of Zing-It or similar high strength line. I seldom anchor in deep water or rough conditions so my main anchor line is only 30 feet. I have another 30 foot section that I add on if I need the extra length.
