If you rent one from a BWCA outfitter It should have a yoke. On my NW solo the yokes was a clamp on. If it's not marked somehow where the clamp goes, then just play with it till you get it right. It won't take long. You want the bow to rise up slightly after you hoist the canoe on your shoulders
You could bring some blue tape and once you have it dialed in just place tape on each side of the yoke on the gunnels, then you know where to place it each portage. I use a pencil to mark the gunnels, but i own my northwind solo.
