Went just as smoothly for me as last time, hopefully it does for everyone else this time.
I thought Moose Lake had 25 per day, it had 27 out of 27 available when I reserved. Motor's mixed in? I only saw OP as the option, do the motor users go elsewhere?

Got my permit!
At first, I didn't change the date, so it was on March 4 and saying zero for permits, and I thought, ugh, not this again... then I realized I had to change the date... and glorious day!
Got my permit, just in time before that day was sold out.
Cheers to everyone getting their permit today.

muddy: "Got mine also! Only issue with the site is the "view my reservation" page is down.
But I have an email and hard copy printed off!"
Don't worry, the first time around everyone that did what you did got it cancelled a week later anyway. The confirmation email isn't necessarily that until they see the system actually survives opening day....

Success here as well. Two DM permits for Clearwater in mid-June, easy-peasy.
I thought it was weird that I was only charged $6 total for the two permits -- in other words they only charged me the reservation fee, and not for the "recreation" fee of $16/adult. I will be happy to pay those fees later, I just hope my permit reservations stick. Or do day motor permits not have to pay the recreation fee since there's no camping involved?

Got mine with a small snag: After entering all payment info, I hit the "confirm and pay" button to finalize checkout. The page loaded for a minute, then gave me an error. This happened twice. Then I waited a bit and added a night at a Superior National Forest campground and went through it again. It went through, showed me a confirmation page, send me my confirmation emails, and I can see both under "My Reservations". So it looks good now.
Only problem is it looks like my there was no error in charging my credit card so I have the charges x3 as pending. Hopefully the confirmation sticks and they rescind two of the charges without me having to complain to someone...
YAY! Mid-June through Seagull!

I don't know. I keep checking to see which EPs have been closed out and I am not an inordinate amount of quotas being filled.
It looks like BOG Lake is the most cashed out. Other than that, it looks like all the whining and crying about fairness was not warranted.
I am interested in hearing from people who didn't get the reservation they wanted.

Went smooth for me. I got both of my trips reserved but was surprised that it wasn't even 5 minutes in and when I booked my second there was only one spot left for that day. Hopefully everyone gets the days they want and there won't be anymore issues.

I ran some quick numbers and it shows the motor day use to Basswood for the actual fishing season window contains 1,314 available permits. By 9:24am, they were all sold out pretty much. I can imagine the devs were in pucker mode for most of that time.

I bet. Once all the motor permits are closed out, it will be BEER:30 for the Devs.

My 18yo son wants to hit the water as soon as he can after his last day of school. I know that I might be pushing it, but on the bright side, it won't be very busy. I always hate the first few portages entering.

What you're seeing for Bog Lake isn't a reflection of the popularity. It's a dead end lake and half of it was burned recently. I think one permit per week is what it's at now, was slightly higher before the fire. So unless someone is going in there and staying more than a week, you're basically guaranteed to have the lake to yourself. But no other travel options....

I got my my reservation and confirmation email. Everything seemed fine until I looked at my credit card account and I was charged twice. I'll have to follow up with them on that one.

Was able to get my permits today! Still don't like that they don't sort by EP #'s, but got what I wanted, so I won't complain. June 5 can't come soon enough. Hopefully the ice is gone by then, lol.

I picked up 7 day use motors for Fall lake and beyond; plus an over night paddle. I thought the system went pretty smooth too. Just checked the site and day use motors for Fall and Moose are all gone.

Same EP for me but Sept 16-20. Mind if I ask what you have planned as far as a loop or base camp? "
We've been up there twice with his little sisters several years ago. My son want to do both trips in one big trip with just him and I. I don't know the exact route yet as I'm concerned about higher water that early and going against the current in some spots. Most likely we will be going up through Slim, Steep, Pocket, down to Oyster and Agnes before heading to Iron, LBW Falls and then to Thunder, down the Beartrap river to Iron and finally through Agnes, Ouster over to Shell and back out. It'll be about 105 miles in 8 days.
Depending on what you are looking for, I would be happy to make suggestions.

Thanks but just curious. We’re doing Hustler for a couple days and then looking at a couple options for the rest of the trip. Thought that if you did Hustler too I would get some info from you. Sounds like a good trip you have planned. Enjoy the time with your son. I’ll be going with both my sons and their spouses. First trip for 3 of them so it will be extra special.

Agree with you on the EP#. Hopefully they add in the future. Made our reservations for mid June. Wow! For the week of the 17th, 3 days are already out of permits and only 14 left for the other 4. Looks like our group picked the busiest week of the year so far. CANT WAIT! I'm sure Minnesota isn't much better, but we are on a current Arctic bindger here in SD of temps below freezing for 36 straight days and another 14+ on the way. Currently averaging about 10 degrees during that span. Lots of sub zero days and lots of snow. So ready for warm Spring/Summer days! BWCA can't come soon enough!!!

I'm actually a little concerned with the basswood/moose/fall situation to be honest. It may have been too easy/cheap? $6 can get you a slew of DM's...
I would like very much to see some numbers at the end of the season -- How many DM permits were purchased, and how many were claimed?

I mean you could bushwack out of there to the Isabella River. Not sure why anyone would do that though.

Yeah, got mine too again. Just like before I had no issues using the system. Lucky twice I guess.

okay, I thought all went well, but after reading the above and remembering that happened to me when reserving, I went and checked my active statement and sure enough there are THREE CHARGES there. UGGGGG.......

I have the same concerns about over night motor permits. Between 3 people we tried for 4 motor overnights into Basswood and only got one. Might be the first time I don't fish Basswood on opener. Unless I find someone and go in in their permit and show them my spots.

Congrats, yogi! I was thinking of you when I peeked at day use motor availability around an hour and a half in and saw all of those zeros.

Numbers would help, sure, but I stumbled upon the fact that the entry point names can be sorted alphabetically by clicking on the column header. That helps me find the right one pretty quickly.
