I found an old photo with a sign saying Severson Landing. Does anyone know if this is in the BW? Near what lake or entry point?

It would most likely be a logging landing, storage area or rail road landing for logging.

Around Isabella there are many logging landing areas, Kelly Landing, Sawbill Landing, guessing it might be around the Isabella area, not sure.
Either way I doubt it is related to canoeing/boating, if that is what you are asking.

It might help to post the photo

The Severson Landing I’ve read about is on the Cloquet River near Bear Lake south of Brimson. There is a canoe campsite there. Find in “Recreation Facilities”.

Linden may be right in how it got its name though. The Alger-Smith Logging Co was very active in that area.
