Still heading NNE, the portage closes in a little. On the east side of BWCA.

Darn, too slow! I would have had this one.

Technically, that is the portage from East Bearskin's south-east arm to Alder. There is a portage at the end of each of East Bearskin's arms but the last time I came through (2017) the north portage was in tough shape with multiple large pines across the trail requiring hand-overs.

Yes, we checked out the north portage in 2015. It had a number of large pines down then also. That and the elevation would have made it difficult to portage with canoes.
