Our group will also be in Quetico the first week of June. We have our best luck in June with a jig and twister tail for walleyes. Seems to us that wally divers work better in August... like the walleyes are looking for a larger meal. Slow and small works better, it seems, post-spawn.

This. We find the same thing. WD's will always work, as will other crankbaits, but the trick is to find them and then slay them with jigs. From July on the crankbaits will come in to their own more( but jigs are still good). You will find a lot of larger walleye suspended in mid summer and trolling WD's, Frenzy Flicker Shad's, Shad Raps, etc. can be deadly.
So many fish,so little time
