I have seen kites in trees so I guess someone was told to go fly a kite.... and did it! I don't think it's against the rules. wouldn't try it on a portage, though. would you use your fishing pole to get it up really high, reel it in, let it out....?

Egad, not just the old-fashioned diamond-shaped kind, ehh?

Not sure the rules but I know I wouldn't want to see it. Plenty of other places to do that where they wont end up in trees.

I think if you look at BassPro's link, you'll see he was joking... (er, I think...)

I'd laugh if i saw a kite! More power to you if you bring one in.

Are any of those big enough to keep your food bag aloft? Could be perfect for camping in a fire area.

Is a moose flying a kite permitted? And if not, whose gonna stop them?

I would think a kite would feel out of place. Just my opinion...

Kill two birds with one stone, you could hang your food from one of those as long as the wind is blowing, (which it always is).

Always a head wind!

I suggest going to a treeless speck of an island well away from shore for this activity.

Another reason to bring guns to the Bwca... haha. My rainfly is like a kite sometimes. Mocha, those weren’t kites in those trees. Those were old ropes and stuff from food hanging folks. Kite flyers would never leave a kite in a tree. Now a cell tower, that’s a different story. Cell towers don’t belong there.

Maybe you can find one like this

Put a single hook with a leech on one of the tails and call it a "Sky Bobber". Also known as the TGO-Air method. You'll catch walleyes for sure.

So apparently no reference to trained accipiter's intended?
I thought Brad was fishing with a trained Osprey.

It wouldn't bother me if someone was flying a kite. It's not super-visually-intrusive, and ends up being a dot in the sky more than anything else. The only problem would be if it made a bunch of noise that carried, as kites occasionally can flap in the wind. But it's a nice non-motorized toy that is minimally intrusive. Better than a drone! (Yes, I know drones are prohibited.)
