So....long story short, I was up last year with my boys (now 18 and 20) and we hit Hoist and Wind bay and did decently for the short time we were there with some minor motor issues in late June. Before that, the last time I was on Basswood was back in mid 90's a couple times.

This year I was able to get a DM permit for the second week of the opener with access to Canadian side. We didn't hit Back Bay last time we were up, but I really wanted to and never have fished the north side of Bayley Bay, more specifically, Sunday bay.
We primarily will start off looking for Pike/Bass and then switch off to reefs maybe looking for Walleye.

Any opinions?

How does one get access to the Canadian side with a motor?

Stay South of Washington Island...that's how.
