I thank God for getaways like the BWCA. His creation is amazing, and I'm refreshed every time I'm there. But our life purpose can't be getaways. Those are the in between stops. Our life purpose has to be what we live day in and day out. I don't live 50 weeks a year for the two that I'm camping!
Today, in our services at church, many found out that their purpose was to be an overcomer. Jesus rose from the dead and came out of His tomb so that I could come out of mine. Because He was an overcomer, I can be an overcomer.
Whatever life is throwing at you, you can win. God did not create you for failure. He created you for victory!
It was fun to watch the people get that. Lives were forever changed. Go live your purpose!
Then breathe the fresh air in the in between spaces. See you on the water!

Yes, saw my cardiologist this afternoon and hoped he would tell me everything he said was an "April fools" joke.....he didn't

kamisboy: "I'll bring your need before the Lord and agree with you for healing. The stripes that Jesus bore in His body were for our physical healing. You are not alone. "
THANK YOU; he's been with me through a lot, here we go again!

This is a Bible verse that has stuck with me over the years and given me strength:
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
"Keep close to Nature's heart, yourself; and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean." ~ John Muir

Jackfish: "Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
What an incredible verse! Jesus said He would never leave us or forsake us - no matter what we're walking through...

This one always makes me smile for some reason, and helps me to live in the moment..

Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Wow, I hadn’t been in soul space for a while. This is not only a great message, but some messages from our friend, Terry, who has since left us. Terry overcame quite a bit, but this last time wasn’t to be.
I agree with the original post as far as living our whole life for a couple canoe trips a year as a focus, but whether canoeing or whatever, we get out there and can impact a lot of people as did Terry to many of us. I also agree that we need to be active in our pursuit of doing God’s will 52 weeks out of the year. Lots of people just go to church and forget about God all week long and many rarely or never even do that.
The people that rarely open a bible also amaze me. They are like “experts", especially non-believers. They quote scriptures like there is no tomorrow to put Christians down.
There is a lot of good happening out there too. Personally, I’m working hard to do God’s will. Our community has a lot going on for a little community. Overcomer, I was wondering if you’d chime in. For me, just letting go of self will be the biggest thing to overcome now. I keep getting a deeper appreciation for everyone I know. I just keep praying for God’s grace on everyone.
Have a good day, all.
