Rainbows on Basswood Lake - 2017. Evidently the campsite on the right is the better of the two.

That photo just takes my breath away, TomT!! Stunning! I love reflection shots and think that sometimes I do them well, but this is simply astounding!

Thanks Lynda. I only wish I had my DSLR for it instead of my point and shoot. That was one of those very still quiet mornings where you can have a conversation talking in regular tones from 50 yards away from someone.

It's strange that there's more detail in the reflection of the people.

There really is nothing spectacular about this photo - but for the reminder of an important BWCA lesson: we'd hoped to camp on Clove Lake, but all the sites were full. You know the drill - you are tired, hungry, ready to stop - and hopes up for a particular lake/site. We pressed on into Larch Lake and took a site that was hard hit by wind. Not optimal, and kind of freaky as I figured this may be a site where someone was injured during previous storm. As we sat on the rocks having dinner, I looked across the lake to witness a moose cow and calf swim the entire distance of the lake, and continue to swim around and feed in the bay off to our left. We must have had a good half hour of moose watching. Good reminder for me to loosen up and stay in the moment. < 2017>
