I have read it. I found it very good, especially if you are familiar with all the areas the book covers. The grit of those early settlers was amazing.

Best book ever. Makes me want to throw my traps in a backpack and go live in the BWCA.
(Not that I need a book to make me want to do that)

Great book! I bought it to read on my solo last September. The only problem is I started reading it the night before I left, couldn't put it down and ended up finishing it. Still took it on my trip!

It's a quick read. Which translated means it's a very interesting book. (If you like historic canoe country information). One criticism, if you wanna call it that, is that it was too brief. It left me wanting more.
