Weird one here. We've had 3 different treadmills over the years, and every single one of them trips the fuse when I run, and never does for my wife. I can usually only get about 3/4 of a mile in before it turns off on me, and I have to get off, unplug it, reset the power strip and the pop-out fuse thing, and try again. Totally ruins the workout.

I've run on treadmills at gyms and YMCAs and never had an issue, but those are usually top-of-the-line.

I'm heavier than my wife (190 to her 125), but it doesn't seem like 190 should be too heavy for a treadmill? I run slower than she does, so I'd think I would be putting less stress on the machine than she is?

Any ideas?

thanks!

Adam

As in trips the a circuit breaker? Or there is actually a fuse on the treadmill? 190 shouldn’t be to big for any treadmill.

1st: Get a new power strip.

Your added weight does put more of a load on the motor. It seems counterintuitive but the treadmill does carry you for a brief period of time with every step. A slower pace may even increase the load as the period of time it "carries you" is longer than with a faster pace. My guess is the main trouble is the strip; probably made for electronics and the load the motor places on it when you run throws the breaker.
