Curious what you folks have purchased new for 2019. I am at a point where I do not need anything, so beyond clothing here and there, I really do not buy anything new any more. That said, I did, however, pick up a monster 10L MSR gravity water filter at the Expo yesterday. Should come in handy for base camp trips with my wife.

I added a Northstar Polaris Blacklite w/E6 trim to my fleet of now 2. A Northwind Solo being the 1st. While technically a 2018 purchase, I didn't paddle it until 2 weeks ago.
Because of the investment in the Polaris, I am doing my best to restrict my gear purchases for the rest of 2019... However, if I get something today but, don't pay for it until January, that's a 2020 purchase right?!? ;)

Light year for me as it relates to gear buys. Replaced the Silky saw that broke on day-one in Quetico last season.

I graduated from college in December, and have been in my first "big boy" job since the first week in January. The days of borrowing canoes and cheapo gear are behind me.

2 BB Special bent shaft paddles
Garmin Striker 4 - wired to 10 AA's thanks to help from this site

Hey, Ken! Love the trucks!! I want a new tandem, but cannot justify the cost as I only spend one week a year in the tandem these days. Sure would be nice to have one more responsive than my 200 year old SR. Maybe when I win the lottery...

No new gear, just don’t really need anything..... but I am currently getting the new (to me) truck set up. Got the fit kit for the Thule rack ordered and just put the cover on, now at least my gear won’t get stolen! Custom Flying Moose installed.

I did a lot of shopping last fall and this winter so I have a lot of new gear.
Grumman Canoe
CCS Pioneer Pack
CCS Barrel Pack
Blue Barrel
20 Degree Down Sleeping Bag
Luci Lights with mobile charging x2
Twig Stove
I'm also keeping my eyes open for a new (to me) 3-person tent. I'm just not in a rush to buy something so I always hesitate to pull the trigger.

Not too much new gear this year but still good stuff
1. Garmin Striker 4 and the Wilderness Systems 10AH Battery
2. Goal Zero Crush lantern. Thanks Butthead.... and i probably shouldn't be that excited about a lantern. Replaced a heavy bulky battery lantern.
3. Few new lures and a couple of packs of Z-Man Shadz

So far:
CCS Guide Pack
Enlightened Equipment Revelation down quilt
New headlamp
Pending:
CCS Lean+2
CCS Bug Shelter
CCS Pioneer Pack
I’m updating most of my 15-20 year old gear, probably my last upgrade before I get too old to use it anymore. I’m glad I have a couple sons who like canoe tripping as much as I do, they can have my gear when I get too old to use it.

Just put one foot in front of the other; eventually you'll get there.

Well I did a lot of purchases. Replaced lost items
1. Hilleberg tent
2. CCS 10 x 12 tarp
3. Bell Morningstar Royalex canoe
4. Sawyer gravity water filter
5. Gerber Freescape Camp saw
6. Gerber Hatchet
7. Fishing Rods and tackle
8. CCS 60l bear barrel bag
9. Midland 2 way weather radios
10. Puppy PDF
11. 1 New Voyager map and West & East National Geographic maps
12. Shaped Portage pad
Pretty much re-geared up and ready to go.
I would like to obtain an Emergency locator (never had) and possibly a GPS although this season I do not anticipate going in so far that I would need one of these. A good old fashion compass would provide what I would need.
Happy Safe Paddling to all ;) Maybe we will see you out there.

* Same with the 10L MSR water filter. For the big groups, this looks like it will work out slick.
* Hammock Gear under quilt.
* Mountain House Fusilli Pasta with Italian Sausage (new in the mix this year for us)
* Lastly one of those cloth maps!

Pretty much everything. The only old stuff is my kitchen gear, sleeping bag and fishing gear. I am thinking about bringing my old 2 burner white gas stove, along with my new bottle top propane. Other than those things, all my stuff is new.
