A yoke I made for my bwca trip in three weeks. Still needs another coat of poly and the padding

Looking good. What make of Kayak will you be paddling?

Nice. I took my Current Designs Solstice GT up to Kawnipi I think in 1995 ... the year of the big Fire. I had a lot of fun rolling in the waves in my Kayak when canoeists couldn’t even get out in the windy conditions.

Portaging was slower though as I had to keep pulling gear out of my cockpits.

Have fun

I dont mind the extra 1-3 minutes it takes to load my Portage pack. Little extra time to take in what's around me. Practiced a bunch in the back yard so I know what goes where the quickest and most effectively. Bag on shoulders, yoke on yak, yak on shoulders away I go.

After using this yoke it was very obvious I needed to get the boat off my shoulders more. Added 3" high dense foam blocks. Mad a world of difference. Next trip has multiple 150rd plus portages. Should be set now, heading in on the 5th. Ep 75 to do 32 up and around the kawishiwi triangle.
