ice image

It looks like it to me. You need to click on the 250 mile image to look in close but I don't see ice on the big lakes however, I do see some sheets of ice on a few lakes, not to be confused with the clouds. I bet Northern Q still has some ice too.

From the QPP Facebook page:
May 6th, 2019: French Lake is now ice free. Water levels are very high, and for the most part the snow has melted.
Beaverhouse Road is clear and Beaverhouse Lake is ice free. Water is high and the main portage is wet.

Talking to a contact there is still some floating ice remaining on the bigger lakes, expected to be gone in the next couple of days.

I saw the same on FB, if French and Beaverhouse are clear, I'm sure it is all gone up there. I didn't see any temps below 32 for the next 9 days, except it was 25 in Ely this morning, but it's 55 now. I would not be worried.

Thanks everyone for the reports. We are going in May 31st through Stanton bay. Now the next question is when do you think the spawn starts and ends? I have been reading a lot about post spawn fishing and trying to think through strategies for walleyes for that time.

Let me start by saying that I'm not a serious fisherman or a good one, but I do enjoy catching and cooking a fish dinner at the end of a long day paddling. My Spring trip almost always coincides with the two weeks following walleye opener (Ontario), and I've never had to work very hard for my supper, either lake trout or walleye.

Thanks. We are not expert fisherman either. It is fun to catch and release walleye and bass. Hopefully we will find them this year.

Sitting in the same boat. Except I Wouldn't even call myself a fisherman. You have to catch fish for that. But I do like to try.
