I need to shorten my trip the last week of June from four nights to three, going from Moose (with tow) to Knife, first trip ever. No trip is probably long enough, but do you think that’s still a decent time frame or should I try to go later and do 4-5 nights?

I have done 3 night trips that were good experiences. Sawbill-Cherokee-Jack loop top of mind. Sure you can find similar loops or routes out of EP25. I always consider effort to get to EP and back home (drive time, prep/packing, gear clean up afterwards) and personally feel about 5 nights is my minimum trip length for the effort but it’s a personal choice for each. I still have a demanding job and family with small kids in the house. For a retired empty nester totally different.

Can you do a 3 day trip in June then a later, longer trip? ??

Any amount of time in the BW is worth it

This year I'm somewhat forced into doing a 2 night trip. My tripping buddy is getting married and doesn't have vacation time to go for longer. I'd love to go on another trip, but my dad and brothers aren't as interested. If you can get out on the trip at all, that's great. Don't let everything else stop you from doing what you love.

I did a lot of 4-night (4 1/2-day) trips sandwiched between 2 weekends of driving. Some of them were great, but some were 2 days (+) of really bad weather. Some were cut short due to extreme weather forecast. Two days out of 4 of really bad weather is different from two days of that out of 8 days. I'd always opt for the most days possible since you never know what weather you'll get.

How far are you traveling to get there?

Travel time to ely is only 5-6 hours , wondering more about 8:00 am departure Tuesday morning then meet with tow out at 3:00 pm Friday if that seems like enough time to go to knife lake and do mostly fishing and some sightseeing more time would always be better just hoping 3 nights won’t feel rushed

Three nights on Knife is just getting started, but I think it's enough time even if you get there late (on the water at 3-3:30pm, on Knife by 7:30pm) to get some fishing in and appreciate nature. I wouldn't want to leave if the weather was nice but at least it'll give you a place to come back to! I love Knife and will be back before I know it.

The more time on the water the better, (always), but I wouldn't hesitate to go for 3 days if I lived that close. We have a 16 hour drive, so we spend a week on the water, otherwise it's not worth it.

Are you getting a tow back as well? If so then no issues; Go. If you were paddling back then you'll have to decide how much you want to work each day.

Getting tow back at 3pm on Friday. Looks like it should be a decent amount of time up there

Most all my trips are 3 nights. We typically base camp for the 3 nights. If we were traveling more maybe more nights would be beneficial.
