2018 Northstar B-17 Canoe (IXP layup/wood trim/installed kneeling pads/lining holes/paddle keepers) For Sale (to a good home).

We purchased this boat slightly used directly from Northstar. It, and a small handful of other B-17s, had just returned from the newly designed boat's test voyage on the Rio Grande as part of the Northstar Experience 2018 expedition (this is THE boat shown navigating Rio Grand whitewater on the Northstar website!). As it had just gone down a Rio Grande canyon, it came with some scratches in the resin coat from the expedition and one noticeable small scrape; a testament to Northstar's IXP layup: (Substantial Innegra with an inner blanket of Aramid. An extremely durable lamination with far better performance than Royalex. Exterior resin coated because gel coat chips and cracks when subjected to substantial impacts.)

Wood trim: Oiled white ash gunwales; sculpted and laminated black walnut and ash end decks; walnut and ash laminated contoured web seats hung on walnut trusses; walnut and ash laminated thwarts and yoke; stem mounted tie down loops. Laminated black walnut and ash creates a distinctive and refined canoe that is stronger and lighter.

We have only used it twice since purchasing it (once on a short section of the upper Namekagon River, and then again on the upper section of the Boise Brule). It is a wonderful boat, but we have decided to pursue two solo river canoes so this one's up for sale. This canoe has been stored indoors and is in excellent condition beyond the scratches to the bottom of the hull and the one small scrape. The scrape has exposed a few fibers and, while not structurally concerning, can be easily repaired with the Northstar repair kit (included in the sale of this boat).

The B-17 retails for $2,785.00 with aluminum gunnels. The Wood Trim package adds $400.00 to the price ($3,185.00 total retail).

I can't believe that this boat hasn't been scooped up by someone yet. That's a sweet ride for a great price. I would buy it myself except I just purchased a new NW 18.
