Looking like I might book a cabin from July 27th - July 30th at Norwesterlodge. Has anyone ever fished Poplar lake this time of the year? Are there any places that I can go nearby that offer good fishing. I just want to be able to catch a few smallies and walleyes?

Poplar should be good for bass that time of year. Area lakes can be a tough nut to crack that time of year; dawn and dusk are must-fish times. And for godsake, get a burger at the Poplar Haus.
