Nice part about that area is you can bring a cooler with beer and a screen tent. I really like that rock on that campsite.

I'm sure that is a plus for many, I treated it like I was in the BWCA with my packing and gear. It is just easier that way, besides I wouldn't want to portage a cooler.
One canoe that passed by me camped on Timber Lake.
I glassed them as they went by and that canoe was loaded.

Neat. Sounds like you had a lot of solitude in a seldom visited but easily accessible corner of canoe country.

Glad to hear it was clean. Took my girls there 2 years ago and it was pretty dirty. Toilets were overflowing, garbage, and a few large live trees that some donkey took an axe to, but didn't cut down. It is a good first trip for kids, with short portages and easy exit if needed.

I was suprised how clean the sites were, i expected to at a minimum, find cans half burned in the fire rings. I suspect the rangers had recently came through that area and cleaned things up. The portages were all clear and brushed back quite wide.

Did you paddle across Burntside? That's a haul. can be tough if there's wind.
Nice report.
