Just back from Red Lake - spectacular trip into & out of Leano with basically no rain...remarkable.
Albert at Goldseekers was great as always - very much enjoy staying at his B&B and highly recommend him.
Our team of 4 had a total novice in the group but he pulled his weight, and in fact fed us many times over by catching all three fish species.
Saw a bwca.com sticker on a Wenonah canoe downtown yesterday morning...so someone else from here was going in or coming out.
For what it's worth, the drive to Leano from RL took 2:15. Out took 2:05. My opinion is that any competent driver in almost any SUV with decent ground clearance can drive that road, though there are some wet spots that might get interesting after a rain. We has a standard issue F150, so not even close to any concerns.

Too late to give you much now, but I may do a short trip report.
In a nutshell, through Kilburn, the 1000m to Upper Kilburn, Middle Kilburn, Dragon and the unnamed lake S of Dragon. Backtracked rather than looping.
Black flies were out but only bad at portage landings. No mosquitoes as of May 31 when we left...
Fishing was great. Caught some really nice Lakers, good Walleye, and lots of pike, some of which saw the surgeons for y-bone removal, and were then fantastic. We planned on 2/3rds of dinners and half of lunches being fish meals, and we over-achieved.

Likely us - black F-250???
Four of us flew in to Haven Saturday. Paddled out to Johnson the following Saturday. Terrific trip! Saw a moose, four bears (sow and three cubs), two caribou (cow and calf), caught walleye, np, and lake trout. Sure did miss the bass though!

Sorry for the late reply - black Ford pickup sounds right - with a topper, correct?
Glad to hear about another great trip. Did you go thru Wrist and Jigsaw or Cyclops and Rostoul?
Hope to get back later in the season, but the available time is limited.
May get time to write a TR but it will be on some upcoming long flights in a week or two.

Just curious - where did you see the caribou?

Yep, truck has a cap on the bed.
We went through Wrist and Jigsaw.
Caribou were on an island toward the south end of the north section of Haven. Son and I were paddling within 15-20 feet of shore around an outside bend. Rounded a corner, and they were right in our faces taking a drink! We ended up camping on a nearby island. The two others with us ended up seeing the same pair crossing our island and headed toward shore.
