Or if you're heading up the Gunflint trail, there is Ugly Baby Bait across the street from Trail Center. Many of the lodges/outfitters sell bait as well. Some just have plastic containers in a fridge, others (Gunflint Lodge for one) actually have a full-on setup with aerated tanks and they scoop them fresh for you.

I buy from the bait shop downtown. The one with the big walleye sign. Nice show with a good supply of fishing tackle.
