Just a quick question: What fish species are in Kekekabic? The DNR reports list lake trout and white sucker and Furtman's book lists lake trout and, I believe perch. Are there no walleyes, northerns and smallmouth or are they just a given?

You can see the most recent survey here: https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/showreport.html?downum=38022600
That reported a Smallmouth Bass and nets under-represent bass so it is probably safe to say there are SM Bass in there.
As for Pike, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a small population in there but likely they are rare if they don't turn up in the surveys.
And Walleye, I see nothing stating that they've ever been stocked in that lake so it would be a good bet that there are none.

Zwater: "Smallies are everywhere:)"
This might surprise you, but they don't win every inter-species tussle. I fished a lake in Ontario once. The Canadian government had done a species survey and only found smallmouth.
I asked my paddling partner if he was marking fish and he said, "Yeah."
"What depth?"
"Everywhere."
And they were everywhere, but they were all pike.
I will paddle eternal, Kevlar and carbon.
