The Kastmaster does not have to be very big when jigging through the ice. I prefer using the 1/16th and 1/8th oz. size.
I have never found using a big lure to be beneficial when jigging for Lakers or Splake.

Splake are one-half lake trout, so, as with lakers, anything shiny works pretty good
