I have a couple of Exped Snymat 9 pads that are about ten years old. They probably see average use (although I have no clue as to what average would be). Last year one blew a baffle and this year one started developing very small leaks. I can't imagine where the leaks came from as it worked great last year and leaked on my first trip out this year. I patched three leaks already and am waiting to see if it holds air as I type.

Here are the questions......

Are they approaching "end of life"?

Has anyone had similar experiences?

I consider them a very good product and they sleep well. I did drop Exped a note and I'll see what they have to say about it as well.

Safe travels......Mike

I have an exped that is at least as old as yours. I don't have any issues yet... but have another trip coming up.

I will be following this thread with interest.

Exped's customer service is phenomenal. I reached out to inquire about a second hand tent I'd purchased with a broken pole. They repaired it and sent me additional backup poles for FREE. I love that company. I'd reach out and let them know what's going on and see what they suggest.

You bet. I hope they're still killing the customer service aspect of their business.

OB. Wow! You weren't bs'ing about their customer service. Both pads are being shipped back tomorrow with a promise to get at least one back to me before my next trip into WCPP on July 27th. I'll let you know what I find out.
Safe travels.......Mike

Yeah, this mirrors my experience with Exped customer service a couple years ago.... Had a family trip about 3 weeks before a BWCA trip. Blew a baffle on the family trip, Exped had a replacement in my hands a full week before the BWCA trip. I included a treat for whomever opened my RMA & they hooked me up with a pillow in return!

Just a quick shout out for EXPED customer service. WOW! I got both my pads back in time for my trip....leaving tomorrow. They replaced the one with the blown baffle with an upgrade and repaired the leaky one. In addition I now have a nice pillow to sleep with.

I believe the leaks were caused by one of my wife's cats....the only one with claws. However, the cat is not cooperating with the authorities but is still the primary suspect in the case. Let's not go there as to why the cat had access to my Exped pad. I'll not repeat that mistake again.

I am not used to this level of customer service and don't know how to react to it other than by publicly saying "Thank You " to the EXPED folks and sending them more treats. They seem to respond well to quality chocolate treats. I'm curious if they're going to enjoy the Wisconsin cheese and sausage that's coming their way after I get back.

One thing I forgot to add. They communicated well during the whole process and kept me informed as to the status of the repair and replacement process.

They have a customer for life.

Safe travels........Mike
