Been thinking about this for ten years. Finally pulled the trigger. Life is too short. Might as well have some fun along the way.

Cheers, scat

Will do. Taking her to the Kishwaukee Paddlefest shindig on the 27th. Might get her wet this Sunday with the gf. Gonna look so cool cutting through some rollers. It is pretty badass. Makes me smile. The guy who painted it is mostly a sign guy, but he is an artist too. Was cool seeing the smile on his face as he kinda looked away, I could tell he was thinking, this is gonna be fun. I’m sure he enjoyed the project. It is hand painted. I did the camo. She was all beat up from 20 something BW trips and looked like heck. Def got some looks as I took her home. I’m tempted to put her back on the truck and just drive around town to show it off.

Can’t help but chuckle. Cheers, scat

In the 70tys I commanded a Mech Infantry Co and the M113's all had a similar design on the front.

That is a joy to see. I would love to see that coming across a lake through a little walleye chop.

The sharks mouth is still a favorite for airplane nose art, as seen on some A-10 Warthogs.

You don't want to be a "bad guy" when a flight of those A-10s are cruising around the area. You'd be a lot happier facing a ""real shark.

That is great, I was actually at an airshow this weekend, and saw a plane painted like that and thought of your canoe, now if I can only convince my wife that this is needed on my canoe!

07/23/2019 09:56AM
Going to post a pic of her floatin. Gotta see that. Bringing her to the Kishwaukee paddlefest this Saturday. Can't wait for that party.

Good on ya! My childhood was spent in a wood and canvas Old Town canoe that my father rehabbed and festooned with a phoenix skeleton on the bow. Good thing I was too young to notice or care about the stares ...

Kool Scat,

I built a P-40 Warhawk model airplane as a kid.
We also had a P-40 gas engine plane that flew around in a circle with a couple strings attached to the elevator. We actually flew that plane for a few years. It was tough and survived many crashes due to our lack of abilities.

Now the Flying Tigers in China.
They were a different kind of breed and airplane.

The shark mouth is not just for canoes, or airplanes.

Enclosed is photo of riding companion's Suzuki Hayabusa w/sharks mouth.
Looks pretty awesome when you're doing 55 and he comes flying by you doing 100.

No, in Vietnam I was a MACV advisor in the Delta to a Regional Vietnamese Company, 5 K from the closest road. When wounded I was Medevaced to the 9th Div HQ, about 1 year after "Charlie Co" moved to another DIV.

Getting a lot of nice words about her. That’s my beautiful gf Terri at the bow. Trying to come up with a name for the boat. What is a mean woman’s name. I suggested Terrible Terri, but that got shot shot down. Understandable, cuz she is Terrific. Taking suggestions.

+1 How about "Thrasher" for a name. First thing I thought of when I saw it and a great Neil Young song and it rhymes with Thresher(shark).

So cool! It looks like the Lock Ness Monster on shore.

I think I’m going to name her Annie after Kathy Bates’ character in the movie Misery. Can’t be a much meaner woman than that.

As always, Cheers! scat

I particularly like the shot of the canoe with the kids in the background floating on inner tubes, has a shark week vibe to it.

Bruce isn't a girl's name, but it was the name of the shark in Jaws.

I believe the "Finding Nemo" folks had some fun in naming their shark in 2003. ;-)

Sorry, not naming my boat Bruce. That would just be plain weird. Now Felix.... Nah, it’s gotta be an evil woman. Sticking with Annie. On to the next of life’s grand decisions.
Like, should I do the same to my faded out burgundy Prism...

Ramming speed!
