I'm going camping this weekend and if I gather a group of gear that is my September Quetico gear, I'm going to photo it. Why? Why not!

Comment and critique, please.

Below is a Costco quilt with end sewn into a box, hammock with bug net, tarp plus ridge line and tie-outs, top quilt, under quilt (zero degree), nifty ground cloth and finally my stakes and some random bits of line and soft-shackles.

Add a common item in each photo for size comparison.

Been using photo records of my own gear for some time. Works better than lists for me.

I use a nalgene bottle for size comparison. How come you have underquilt overquilt and Costco quilt?

Good thinking. I'll do that.

I'll use a nalgene bottle.

My top quilt is about a 40 degree one so I use the costco as a liner, if needed. If I don't need it I'll use it under my knees, etc. It's one of those things that I could probably do without, but is great if you need it.

I’ve never needed a bug net in September, but have encountered 20-30 deg temps several times....

I figured it was a bit of insurance. It's been extra wet and buggy this year so I figured "why not?" Later in the month, I wouldn't bring that one. I do hear the first frost usually occurs before the first week of Sept. but the "usually" is what got me.

I've been in early Sept. and had enough mosquitos that I wouldn't go without; It's lightweight insurance.
