Putting in on Homer EP40 and getting out on Brule EP41
Easiest way back to vehicle? I mean, is the road a direct shot?

Yes - the road is a direct line there. I haven't walked it but looking at the map it's not too bad if you leave gear and a friend or two back at Brule and just get the cars with unladen shoulders.

Did that walk. Nice walk down the road and not too far. Since I was solo I carried my stuff so it took a little while. Might I suggest(since you will be fresh at beginning) to drop stuff at homer and take truck to your end point. In hindsight it would have been easier in my case. Especially if there are 2 of you.
