I know its a long shot, but my son found a cell phone between Pipestone and Jackfish Bay underwater in a sealed bag 8/5/19. After charging, it still works, but is locked. Looks like an iPhone X. Would like to get it back to the owner, if possible.

Like I said, it's a long shot. If I don't hear anything, I'll take it to a Verizon store when I have time. Maybe they can find the owner.

Perfect. That will work. I would just take it to Verizon right away to hopefully save the owner from shelling out some $$$ for a new phone.

I lost my phone last week in Yosemite. Lots of people around where I set it down. Nobody turned it into lost and found. Bought a new one.

Thanks for being a good person.

My wife lost her new phone this week. They are finishing up a complete remodel this week where she works and there around 100 contractors in her building. She went to a meeting and left her phone on her desk. Two hours later it was gone. I used the tracking feature and located the phone and called the police. While we were filing the police report another patrol unit was "following" the phone because I could pinpoint the location on Google maps. It was zig-zagging several blocks all around us. The officer that we were speaking with suggested that we follow her tracks before the phone went missing just to make sure it had been stolen. As we walked into the first room her phone was sitting in plain sight. Oops! Because of the interference in her building the phone was pinging all around us which led the officer to believe that it was still on-site.

She was really shocked when I was able to tell her where she had eaten lunch that day, where she went shopping on her way home from work the day before, where she went to lunch the day before, etc. If your phone has the capabilities turn the tracking function on. You can also completely erase the phone if it goes missing or is stolen.

There is a youtube channel, Man + River, where a guy snorkels for lost phones. He pulls out the SIM card, puts it in another phone, and can find the owner's number. I believe he's be calling them at their existing number on presumably a new phone they had purchased.
